I heard that when spring comes the Varied Thrush head for the hills (a.k.a.
the mountains/higher ground). I have been birding the Fluke Park property
every lunch hour this month (since I have to work days I might as well enjoy
part of the day) and thought I heard a VATH (is that how one denotes Varied
thrush?) call last week. I actually saw a female VATH while walking the
grounds there today. I was so thrilled! Is probable that she will be
around all summer or is she just getting a late start heading out? Also, do
both male and female varied thrush make that wonderful ringing call?
