"How can I landscape attract more birds to my yard?" The answer
may be different than you think! The diversity of life in our urban
areas reflects the landscape practices and plant choices of urban
gardeners. In fact, most urban "habitat" is located not in public parks
but in the yards around private homes. There is a direct connection
between the quality of privately owned urban habitat and the quality of
life in the urban area around it.

Please join the Seattle Audubon Society for an introduction to
creating a garden for wildlife. The 'Gardening for Life' workshop will
educate and inspire citizens to adopt wildlife-friendly practices at
home in their yards. Come and learn about "beneficial" insects,
alternatives to pesticides, cultivating a "sense of place," the best
plants for native Northwest gardening, and backyard bird identification.


Bring your family and friends to share this experience! The
workshop is free and open to the public. Refreshments and shade-grown
coffee will be served.
