Hi,
I've read the reports about hummingbirds reaching Alaska... read about
bluebirds in Ft. St.James (6hours inland from here) - so why did we miss
spring so far out here? Well, finally a Violet-green Swallow arrived
last Saturday, I've heard and saw my first Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and
today the first Rufous Hummingbird zoomed past the college. I'm a
newcomer here; I was still sceptical to the local claim that there will
be songbirds up here in summer...
