Today, saw an osprey in the osprey nest atop the light fixture in the
Duwamish near Kellogg Island. First time I've seen it this year.
Also saw two bald eagles flying over and then perched near the overlook in
Discovery Park by Daybreak Star Cultural Center. The Discovery Park
naturalist I spoke to (Cinny) was surprised, since she would have expected
that one of the pair would be sitting on eggs in the nest now.
Did observe the eagle across from Salty's sitting deep in that nest, and some
of the great blue herons at Kiwanis appear to be sitting now. Observed one
heron bring in a twig and "hand it off" to another heron in a nest.
Oh, and to the person who was asking, there are ring-necked pheasant in
Discovery Park. Quite beautiful and surprisingly vocal.
