April 13, 1:54 PM - Hi, this is Marti Luther (206 781 8909). I am reporting
the second sighting of two SCRUB JAYS in the Ballard Neighborhood of NW 51st
between 8th and 9th. I saw the first sighting on Monday. They seem to be
hanging around. Good birding!

April 13, 3:00 PM - Hi, my name is Laurie. I reside in Des Moines,
Washington (206 824 9078). For the past month, we have been watching two
herons [GREAT BLUE] in front of our yard in Des Moines above the Des Moines
Creek Park which is right east of the Des Moines bridge over there or the
dock that people go fishing on. Last week we were joined by another heron.
On Friday we were joined by two more. The nest is getting really big. It
looks like she has nested her eggs already, we're not quite sure. We're
keeping an active eye on watching them. They come as close as our sun deck
to get branches out of one of the pine trees in front, so we're just keeping
an active eye on watching them every morning and every night. They seem
pretty active in the morning, flying around, getting food and in the evening
building the nest and getting more food. It's quite interesting to watch
their big wing span and building the nest. We have a telescope on them that
we watch and we have binoculars too. Thank you.
