Hi Tweeters,

I live southeast of Chehalis. My bird books don't show a population
of bob whites any where close to here. My landlady was out in the pasture
this afternoon doing a little fencing. She came back and was trying to
describe some small birds she had seen. I grabbed the binoculars and a bird
book and we went back to investigate. Three small birds, with the photo and
description matching bob whites. They allowed us to get within five feet or
so, and then only moved slowly away. I managed to get one clear photo.
They sure do blend into the ground well. Are these birds raised
domestically?
