This is Kas Dumroese with the Northern Idaho / Eastern Washington /
Northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, April 14 (2000). This hotline,

At Mann Lake, east of Lewiston Orchards, Nez Perce Co, ID this past week was
a ROSS'S GOOSE seen on Apr 8, 11, and 14, 10 AMERICAN AVOCETS on Apr 11, 6
to 10 BLACK-NECKED STILTS on Apr 11 and 14, a BONAPARTE'S GULL on Apr 14, 2
HORNED GREBES on Apr 8, a EURASIAN WIGEON on Apr 11, and 7 or so SNOW GEESE
according to Charles Swift, Bryan Jamison, and Keith Carlson. Mann Lake is
about 3 miles east of the Orchards along Powers Avenue. ID DeLorme 54, A1.

At Reardon Ponds, just north of Reardon, Lincoln Co, WA on Apr 7 were 2
BLACK-NECKED STILTS, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS, and 4 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GEESE, according to Cindy McCormick. The geese, yellowlegs, and 16 species
of waterfowl were still there on Apr 10 according to Russ Roundy. The ponds
are just north of town along WA 231. WA DeLorme 88, C-1.

On Sprague Lake, which straddles Lincoln and Adams Co, WA, on Apr 10, Russ
Roundy saw some early AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, a single BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, and a CASPIAN TERN at the West Sportsman Access on the south
side of the lake. WA DeLorme 71, BC-8.

A single drake EURASIAN WIGEON was on Texas Lake, Whitman Co, WA on Apr 8
according to Tom and Diane Weber. They also report a flock of 60 ROSS'S
GEESE and 4 GREATER YELLOWLEGS on the southern end of Rock Lake. Texas Lake
is about 8 miles due southwest of Rock Lake. Rock Lake is about 1.5 miles
north of Ewan off WA 23, about 6 miles west of St John in northern Whitman
Co. WA DeLorme 72, C-3.

Three VESPER SPARROWS were on my driveway Apr 13, about 5 miles south of
Moscow, Latah Co, ID.
