I saw my first Purple Martin of the season this evening at the Hermosa
Point colony site on Tulalip Bay. An adult female perched atop a tree
behind the residences immediately west of the nestboxes . She sat
preening for about thirty minutes during sunset . She flew and I lost
sight of her as the light was going out of the sky.
