Thanks for the information. I remembering reading Tinbergen's book on gulls,
but forgot about it until you brought this up. I'm not certain what I saw,
whether it was rape, alpha male behavior, homosexuality, or what have you.
Whatever, as you say, despite the people who insist that all creatures except
us are instinctual robots, the critters will continue to do as they please. I
guess it's because they don't read the books.
