April 18, 9:42 AM - Hi, this is Jim Flynn (253-941-3358). On Sunday Roger
Arness and I did the Kent Ponds census. There wasn't anything too unusual,
but there were 12 CINNAMON TEAL. The most interesting bird was a CINNAMON
TEAL/SHOVELER hybrid which had the body of a CINNAMON TEAL, although it was
SHOVELER size, and had the complete head of a SHOVELER with a little bit of
a white crescent at the base of the bill which a SHOVELER can show when it
is in eclipse plumage. On Monday there was a HERMIT THRUSH at Dash Point
State Park in Federal Way. Thanks.

April 18, 10:14 AM - Hi, this is Ed Swan at (253) 661 4023. I called the
High Cedars Golf Course about the WHOOPER SWAN. It is an introduced bird
they brought in two or three years ago.

April 18, 2:15 PM John O'Connell, Anacortes. (360-299-4375) Today in Monroe
at the Snoqualmie WRA in the late morning, among birds of note there were
two CINNAMON TEAL, an AMERICAN BITTERN, and a single WHITE-THROATED SPARROW,
the white striped form.

April 18, 3:22 PM - My name is Brad Wilson (253-845-3216). I work at Pierce
County's Fort Steilacoom Park. Today about 2:30 in the afternoon I saw a
NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD just across from the service yard and the park
residence in the horse corral. It was with a few AMERICAN ROBINS and it was
flying back and forth between the tops of cherry trees. That's it. Good
birding.
