Hello Tweeters,
The sun was out partly, and i took advantage and looked for Dragonflies today.I went to the Clear-Cut in Lacy where i had the first Aeshna last year on the 24th of April.Patrick saw one of the same species on the 4th at Nisqualy but did not collect for the record. You proable all wonder what is this Dragonflie doing so far away from the water. When there emerge first there will go where there find food away from the water to get strenght and later returning to ponds and lakes to breed.
On the way home i stoped at the Pierce County's Fort Steilacom Park to find the Northern Mockingbird.I stayed for about to two hours, and could not find this bird. I talked to the man who lives in the park and he describe what his son heard. No other bird sound like the Mockingbird, and Brad Wilson who saw this birds many times in California. So there is or was a Northern Mockingbird in Pierce County.I believe it is a first for the county.Checking it out again tomorrow
