Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday April 20. If you have anything to add call Harry

Brown Pelicans are now moving northward along the coast, along with
increasing numbers of PACIFIC LOONS and waterfowl. VAUX'S SWIFTS and
AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES are now increasing in numbers.

A lone SANDHILL CRANE has been at Euchre Creek, near Gold beach all week.
A flock of 85 WHIMBRELS and 19 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were on the beach
near Flores Lake, south of Bandon April 17, as the first main wave of
shorebirds arrived along the coast.

A displaying male ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD was at Bandon Marsh April 16. A
HOUSE WREN was at Myrtle Point that day. A COOPER'S HAWK and a GOSHAWK
were at Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay April 13.

The RUDDY TURNSTONE continues to be seen among the BLACK TURNSTONE flock
at the oyster plant in Bay City. A WILSON'S WARBLER was in Seaside April
16. Another was at Skinner's Butte in Eugene the day before.

Two BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Ridgefield NWR April 11. PURPLE MARTINS
were back on Sauvie Island April 12. A hybrid BLUE-WINGED/CINNAMON TEAL
was on the Mollala Sewage Ponds April 15. A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was at
Mollala River State Park April 17. A flock of 12 SNOW GEESE were at
Baskett Slough NWR April 15. A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was near Brownsville,
and a YELLOW WARBLER was at Finley NWR April 16.

On April 13 a FORSTER'S TERN was at Fern Ridge Res. near Eugene. A
MOCKINGBIRD has been at Hileman Lane County Park, north of Eugene all
week. A WESTERN KINGBIRD was there April 13.

LARK SPARROWS returned to the Rogue Valley and to Fields during the week.
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS are now back on territory along Indian Ford Creek
near Sisters. On April 15, 150 WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and 180 ROSS'S GEESE
were near Paulina.

On April 13 a WHITE-TAILED KITE was at Malheur NWR near Page Springs
Campground. An adult HERRING GULL was at Lowen April 16. The seasons
first DUSKY FLYCATCHER was at Fields April 14.
