Tuesday afternoon I walked the entire loop at Nisqually. The Harris's Sparrow
is still present in the northwest corner of the refuge. It's alone now, it
appears that the flock of Golden-crowned Sparrows it was associating with has
left. The birds plumage has changed from the time I saw it in December. It
now has more extensive black on the crown, throat and breast and the face is
no longer buffy in color.

Other highlights at the refuge were:

30 Greater Yellowlegs
16 Western Sandpipers
40 Dunlin in breeding plumage
3 Cinnamon Teal
a male Eurasian Wigeon
5 species of swallows (barn, tree, v-g, cliff, rough-winged)
1 Orange-crowned Warbler singing
1 Huttton's Vireo singing
male and female Northern Harrier engaged in courtship behavior.
