Did she see these birds in Florida or Washington? Coot chicks look like
punk rockers with spiky brightly-colored orange heads. It's been a long
time since I've seen one, but I remember the body being gray. Don't
remember if it had any white on it.

I don't know where she could find a photo of a coot chick. I don't think
any of the common bird guides have one. Maybe someone has one on-line
somewhere?
