For anyone who wants to hear what a hybid owl sounds like (spotted and
barred owl mix) I have put up a recording at the Web Site I author for the
Gifford Pinchot Task Force. The call I have posted is the standard contact
call (like the spotted owl 4-note and barred owl 8-note calls). The address
is:

http://www.gptaskforce.org/Owls/owls.htm

I am new at this and hope to be improving as I go. I believe I can get the
file smaller and maybe improve the quality. Something to work on.

I have quite a few variations of spotted owl calls (common and uncommon)
that I will be adding as well as some additional variations of hybrid calls.
I also wnat to get more recordings of barred owls this year and put them up
for comparison.

I'm also in the market for a recorder as the one I've used in the past broke
as I was using it a couple days ago. I would appreciate any information or
opinions that all you birdsong recorders out there could give me. I'm not
rich, so I likely won't be able to go high-end, but I'd like to get as much
quality as I can for the money.

Thanks,

Bob Pearson
