Imagine my surprise a little bit ago as I was walking on one sidewalk, and
the Sage Thrasher was walking on a parallel sidewalk some 50 feet away. The
bird, as I suspected, is actually moving around campus a little more. At 5
this afternoon, it was perhaps 200 feet east of the little area where it's
been (still the best place to start looking), and then it flew further east
to the shrubs on the west edge of Scarpelli Hall. This area is newly
landscaped, and the bushes are very dense--and there is no ivy, so the bird
can forage without being seen very easily.

I suspect that the turn in the weather expected may cause the bird to leave
this weekend. I will report on Monday either way.
