Banding Report for Neawanna Wetland Preserve
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR

30 April 2000

Method: Up to ten 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Notes: There was a noticeable movement of ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS which is reflected in the capture data. Two of
the twelve OCWA captured were of the celata-type the
remainder were lutescens. Both HERMIT THRUSHES were of
the small brown type. The PURPLE FINCH was a second year
male (brown, streaky) with cloacal protuberance.
