April 29, 10:17 PM - Hi, Scott Downes (206) 361-7073. Today I was birding on
Ocean Shores. A couple of highlights, the best being a breeding plumage
PECTORAL SANDPIPER. The bird was in the slough at Ocean City State Park. You
get to that slough by walking between the picnic area and the trail going
out to the beach. After watching the bird for about ten minutes, it flew off
and I could not relocate it later. The other good bird I had was an AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVER on the pond at Damon Point. It was there at high tide today.
About an hour and half later I checked back and it was not to be found.
That's about it. Good luck, and good birding.

April 30, 10:17 AM - Hi, this is Michael Hobbs. After reading Gene Hunn's
account of a BREWERS SPARROW at Marymoor Park on Saturday, I went out at
7:00 this morning. First of all, the BREWERS SPARROW was right where Gene
left it. It was still there singing at 9:15. The bird was last seen in a
Crabapple Tree at the south end of the east meadow. Park at the Interpretive
lot, walk south on the trail to marker #3 and listen. Gene arrived shortly
after I did to try to record the bird. Also in the east meadow was an
WESTERM KINGBIRD which Gene reported yesterday. Also three male WESTERN
TANAGERS. The bushes and trees along the trail south of the east meadow were
absolutely full of birds, including hundreds of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS,
dozens of ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, 1-3 NASHVILLE WARBLERS, one male WILSON'S
WARBLER, at least two WARBLING VIREOS, and an EMPIDONAX. The number of
SAVANNAH SPARROWS, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS was quite
impressive as well. That's all.

April 30, 1:57 PM - Hi, this is Scott Atkinson (206) 660 3862. I have a few
birds to report from San Juan and Skagit Counties over the weekend. Today
along (?) Allen Road just southeast of the intersection with Benson Road in
Skagit County at the edge of a flooded field, I had a nice little shorebird
flock, mostly comprised of WESTERN SANDPIPERS but also one SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPER there. At the West 90 on Samish Flat were seen three CINNAMON
TEAL, a SHORT-EARED OWL, seventy five AMERICAN PIPITS, six drake EURASIAN
WIGEON, and two hybrid EURASIAN/AMERICAN WIGEON in a large wigeon flock.
Various shorebirds including six SHORT-BILLED and two LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHERS. And just north and on the west side of the road heading toward
Samish Island at a barn immediately north, two YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS in a
patch there. April 29, Saturday morning, there was a good movement of
songbirds on San Juan Island, including a nice movement of birds near the
intersection of ?? Drive and Cattle Point Road at a group of trees just west
of that intersection near a small residence along Panorama Pond a single
WARBLING VIREO, several HAMMONDS FLYCATCHERS, and a calling DUSKY
FLYCATCHER. Then a half mile down Halvorson Road which heads south of Roche
Harbor Road just west of Friday Harbor a single CHIPPING SPARROW, a singing
bird. Then at American Camp, a GOLDEN PLOVER, species could not be
identified for certain. That's all.

April 30, 2:18 PM - Hello, this is Dave Beaudette (206) 365-2083. This
report is for April 30 and Snohomish County. Along the Langus Riverfront
Trail, 1/4 mile north of the Jack Knight Bridge, which is the entrance to
Spencer Island, was one adult CHIPPING SPARROW. At the Edmonds Fishing Pier
were fourteen MARBLED MURRELETS. From there I birded the Edmonds Marsh with
Dennis Duffy. We had one EURASIAN GREEN-WING TEAL, three male YELLOW
WARBLERS, one adult SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, and one GREEN HERON in flight. From
there we went to the Deer Creek fish hatchery where we had one RED-BREASTED
SAPSUCKER on a snag along the creek. That's all for now. Good birding!

April 30, 7:42 PM - Hi, Sam Terry (206) 329-9038. This morning I had a male
NASHVILLE WARBLER near my house in the Madrona neighborhood in Seattle.
That's it. Good luck, and good birding.
