Saturday's field trip, which included Rattlesnake Springs, Lower and Middle Snively Springs, Bobcat Flats and the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain together with the migrant trap at 'the pumphouse', produced 57 species of birds. Additionally, the wildflowers were extraordinary at all locations, but particularly stunning in the lithosol zone on the summit of Rattlesnake Mt. were they closely resemble the cushion plants of the arctic and alpine tundra.
