They have definite recourse.
There may be possible penalties for the deliberate bird killing.

If the carousel horse was damaged, small claims court.
If he threatened them with a 2x4, they can take him to court.

But given his blatant behaviour afterward and aggressive actions,
they have a very good case to collect compensation for the work
stoppage, recovery costs, etc. All you need are the witnesses.

Meanwhile, our BC chickadees and offspring have returned to the yard
for their summer feast. I keep the feeder full until my garden
sunflowers are ready.
