Finally a chance to connect to the internet! I gotta type fast because
the batteries are running low (I'll go into detail when I get back), so here
goes:

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania was fantastic, one of the most
incredible things I have ever done, and yes we did make it to the top in
addition to see incredible birds.
After Tanzania, my Dad and I met my Mom in Jo'Burg and picked a huge 4x4,
and started north through Botswana, stopping at the large reserves like the
Okavango, Savuti, and Chobe. Then we headed south through Zimbabwe
(absolutely no problems), stopping in Hwange national park. Then we came back
into South Africa and spent a week in Kruger, where I saw the "Big Five"
(lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant) plus a cheetah in one day.
The Southern African part of our trip has gone on the last month, and for
me it will go on for nearly another month as my parents go to Germany then
home. While we were in the Okavango, we stayed at a place called Delta Camp
(formerly Oddballs'), and the managers there invited me back for the rest of
my summer! I would go into more detail, but I desperately have to go. I let
you all know about it in all the detail possible when I get back to
Washington.

Have a great summer and good birding!

PS - As for the birds, I'm nearing 1000 on my lifelist!
