Hey tweets, I was out birding the Fill the other day (as usual), when I
came upon a birder from South Africa. She was sitting on a log trying to
figure out what looked different about the killdeers she was seeing (turns
out they have a different kind in her country). We walked around the Fill
together and were friends by the end. Now she's back in S. Africa and sent
me a post telling about the black eagles nesting just on the outskirts of
Jo-burg. (We have our urban peregrines and bald eagles, they have black
eagles).
If you're interested in keeping up with the black eagles' nesting
activities and other habits, check out www.blackeagles.co.za
