Hello Tweeters,
I spend almost fife hours today walking the beach between Ledbetter Point
and Oyserville beach access.I had so many Sanderlings .There was of a
stretch for 5 miles on the beach. I guess around 5000 but i did not find the
rare Curlew Sandpiper in breeding plumage, infact there was no Dunlin amongst
all this Sanderlings.I noticed there was in different plumages, some still
had little orange on there breast. It was fiun watching this birds when the
tide was comming in,how there walk with the waves fort and back.I also had
Black-bellied and Semipalmated Plovers Ruddy and Black Turnstone and
Short-billed Dowitchers.
What bothered me the most i was the only birder there to look for this
bird,I guess every one already got this bird on there list.I saw the first
one in Iona in the fall ,but not in breeding Plumage.I am looking at the
"RARE BIDRS IN OREGON"there are eight records some in breeding Pumage.I
found some need places to find Dragonflies, the weather was overcast with
fog,so there was no Dragonflies in sight.
