hello tweets,

i returned from LA early this morning so i am really tired and just
plain overwhelmed with work at this time. however, i did want to tell
you all that i went on a behind-thescenes tour of the condor facilities
at the LA zoo and had the great good pleasure of standing three feet
away from one of the breeding condor hens. this amazing bird stood
calmly and regarded me with intense curiosity. i was astonished by her
size and by her beauty and i was especially impressed with her calm
and intelligent demeanor. the male was perched in the back of the
enclosure, near the nestbox. he too, regarded us with curiousity.

the condor keeper and i parted as friends, and i hope that she is free
to pass along condor updates to me that i can share with you all.

regards,
