Watching the Duwamish River purple martins from 8-9 pm last night, I was
able to see nestlings in both boxes, and again saw a female tending to each
box. One adult male seemed to be tending to both sets of offspring, although
about a month ago I was certainly seeing two males and two females. There
was much more martin activity than the previous evening, and we also got to
see four river otters, two spotted sandpipers, two kingfishers, and two
osprey by the nearby nest upstream.
