Hi Tweets,
I saw this spotted sandpiper at a small lake next to our apartment complex
on Sat 8/12/00 in west seattle. He was there from around 11.00am until dark!
He was feeding and targeting mainly of big flies. There were hundreds of
flies around canada geese droppings!

I liked his style of catching flies. Just like a Heron, this bird was
standing still and rapidly attacking these flies.

This is the first bird of this kind I have seen at this lake. Other current
main visitors are Great Blue Heron and Belted Kingfisher.

Its hard to remember and identify all these 'Sandpipers', however based on
his 'bobbing tail' description I was able to identify him!

Happy Birding,
Narendra Bhagwat,
West Seattle.
