At least two purple martins emerged from the two nestboxes at the Port of
Seattle T-105 viewpoint today; at least four more birds are soon to come,
barring mishap. There was lots of activity to be seen this afternoon, with
short flights and frequent feedings. Despite the heavy industrial sounds of
the lower Duwamish, the martins could be heard from some distance.

Last night other recent fledglings visible were the ospreys from just
upstream; I had five ospreys in one field of view. Three appeared ready to
spend the night in the cables of a nearby construction crane.
Another treat was the full moon that rose from the east around 9:20.

In recent days I've also been seeing fledglings from martin colonies at
Tramp Harbor and Woodard Bay; Woodard Bay also had hoards of curious harbor
seals, belching and burping and gagging within just a short distance.
