Well, folks, it's been a lot of fun, but tomorrow I strike out for the wilds
of the Midwest.

I'm going to the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) to get my Ph.D. in
linguistics--which means in five years' time I'll most likely be back here
somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, flipping burgers!

Anyway, as I sit here watching what will most likely be my last
Chestnut-backed Chickadees for quite some time, I just wanted to bid you all
a fond farewell and wish you good birding for the rest of the summer and over
the next few months.

I'll get back to you whenever I can and tell you what I see out there.
