Sunday my dad and I went on a shorebird trip that took us to Reardan
Pond, Swanson Lake, and Potholes Reservoir. Creston by far had the largest
number and variety of shorebirds in the area on Sunday. We also tried to
find the tri-colored blackbirds at Wilson Creek. Unfortunately, we only saw
red-winged blackbirds.

At Reardan, we did not see any shorebirds other than killdeer. Although we
did find a juvenile sora feeding along the reeds.

At Swanson Lake our list was the following:
Baird's Sandpiper
Lesser Yellowlegs
Long-billed Dowitcher
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Killdeer
We also had a Prairie Falcon that dove in front of us. This display was
amazing, but it did scare all of the shorebirds away.

At Potholes Reservoir we basically saw the same birds as at Swanson, except
we did NOT see: Lesser Yellowlegs or Pectoral Sandpipers.
