Hi all,

There have been some posts about Ospreys recently so I thought I'd add mine.
Today (8/22/00) about 11AM I was at the pond at Golden Gardens watching
ducks molt when I heard and saw two CASPIAN TERNS over the water off Meadow
Point. A minute later I spotted an OSPREY farther out over the sound heading
NW, seconds after I lost sight of the first a second glided by much closer
to shore, it circled a few times giving me great views, then headed N
towards the next point - Richmond Beach?. Yesterday at the same time and Sat
at the same time an OSPREY flew over the pond and headed N. Same general
route at the same general time, am I seeing the same bird?

Saturday a Yearling/young adult Great Blue Heron was wading in the pond and
waded out until the water was about mid body and proceeded to bathe. I've
never seen a heron submerge itself like that before...
