Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This

A BAR-TAILED GODWIT was found August 20 at the mouth of the Necanicum
River between Gearhart and Seaside. It has remained. On August 22 a
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was observed there.

The BLUE-WINGED WARBLER along Indian Ford Creek north of Sisters and the
HOODED WARBLER at the Hotsprings Campground on Hart Mountain continue to
be seen.

The fall migration is now well underway with peak numbers of shorebirds
now passing through and flocks of landbirds being reported. A subadult
BOBOLINK was at Pistol River August 23. A nighttime movement of
SWAINSON'S THRUSHES was heard over McMinnville August 22.

A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON and 16 GREAT EGRETS were at Ridgefield NWR
August 17. On August 19, 39 EGRETS were on Sauvie Island. An adult
FORSTER'S TERN was at the Fernhill Wetlands in forest Grove August 20. At
least two pairs of RUDDY DUCKS successfully nested at Fernhill this
summer. An adult GOSHAWK was at West Union, north of Hillsboro August 23.

On August 21 a BLACK PHOEBE was in Philomath.

A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was at Ochoco Lake near Prineville August 19. On
