Back in March I moved to a new place near the Green River in Kent. The back
yard has a bunch of "mongrel" evergreen trees which look like former
Christmas trees that were planted years ago. On the other side of the trees
is the back of a retail establishment and parking lot.

Here is a list of what I observed in the back yard this spring and summer:

House Sparrows - too many!
White Crown Sparrows
Song Sparrows
Bush Tits
Kinglets (type uncertain)
Black Capped Chickadees (perhaps a CB Chickadee or two)
Gold Finches
Starlings - not too many
Crows
Stellar's Jays (heard)
Northern Flicker
Violet-Green Swallows
Barn Swallows
COOPER'S HAWK! Seen twice! It was perched on the fence between the back
yard and parking lot. I imagine it was taking advantage of the "breakfast
bar" listed above
Gulls - using the retail establishment as a rest stop
