I spent the afternoon high tide at the South Jetty of the
Columbia River.
Black-bellied Plover 3
golden plover 1
Semipalmated Plover 1
Black Turnstone 22
Whimbrel 1
Wandering Tattler 1
Baird's Sandpiper 1
Western Sandpiper 50
Least Sandpiper 5
Sandering 1
Red-necked Phalarope 12
There were also 10 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS
in the small pond west of Battery Russell on the road to SJCR.
SOOTY SHEARWATER numbers are increasing at the mouth of the
Columbia. They were going by at between 12 and 20 per minute.
There were also good numbers of PACIFIC LOONS moving through.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
