Sightings for Monday, Dec. 4

The bird believed to be an adult BEWICK'S SWAN was confirmed today at Kilby
Park along the Harrison River. Birders should be aware that also here there
are 2 TUNDRA SWANS that have large yellow oval lines on the sides of their
bills. The adult BEWICK'S SWAN'S bill is almost entirely yellow across its
base with a slight dark break in the center of the bill. The yellow comes
down from the eye and over the top of the bill as well as down the sides of
the bill. The bird is slightly smaller than the TUNDRA SWANS with a slightly
different shaped bill but the bird and the bill are not as large as a
Whooper Swan.

To get to Kilby Provincial Park take Highway 7 east of Mission to the
Sasquatch Inn.
Just past the Inn is a large bridge that crosses over the Harrison River.
Take the first immediate right turn past the bridge and follow the park
signs to Kilby Park. The bird can be far out on the lake so use patient
when looking.

The immature PALM WARBLER was again seen at 11:00 am in the Southlands
area of Vancouver. Look for this bird anywhere from the corner of Celtic St.
and
Carrington St. to across the bridge on Deering Island at Deering Island

Island. The adult male WILSON'S WARBLER was again seen throughout the day at
the corner of Celtic Street and Carrington Street.

At the Reifel Refuge today the immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK and the
REDHEAD were again reported.

An immature AMERICAN KESTREL and 2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were
