Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This

Harry Nehls at 503-233-3976.

The BLUE JAY at White Salmon and the Tufted Duck at Bingen continue to be
seen.

A SNOWY OWL was in a northeast Portland neighborhood December 2 but did
not remain. A possible SNOWY OWL flew south over Aloha December 1. The
SNOWY OWL near Tangent apparently has moved off and can not be relocated.
MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES continue to be reported in Western Oregon.

A TROPICAL KINGBIRD has been at the mouth of the Elk River north of Port
Orford, and on December 3 another was at Flores Lake north of Cape
Blanco. On December 3 a EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL was at Bandon. A SNOW
BUNTING was on the North Spit of Coos Bay December 1. A ROCK SANDPIPER
was on the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River December 3.

On December 3 over 30 GREAT EGRETS and 11 WHITE-TAILED KITES were about
Tillamook Bay. Nine of the KITES were near the end of Goodspeed Road.

A BEWICK'S TUNDRA SWAN was seen December 2 at Ridgefield NWR. The BLACK
PHOEBE near the end of Pheasant Lane in Milwaukie continues to be seen.

The BURROWING OWLS along 119th. Street east of Salem and along Smithfield
Road near Baskett Slough NWR continue to be seen. Two SNOW BUNTINGS are
now along Livermore Road north of the refuge and at a sparrow filled
brush patch at the junction of Smithfield and Livermore Roads are a
HARRIS'S SPARROW and a TREE SPARROW.

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was two miles south of Dayton December 2. The next
day a ROSS'S GOOSE was near there. An EMPEROR GOOSE was near Ankeny NWR
December 3. An immature GYRFALCON was reported December 4 near
Harrisburg.

On December 1 a MOCKINGBIRD was near Lebanon. Two GRAY-CROWNED
ROSY-FINCHES are still being seen on top of Marys Peak. The road is
closed now so there is a hike involved. Two or more TREE SPARROWS
continue to be seen near the end of Royal Avenue at Fern Ridge Res. The
LONG-TAILED DUCK is still at Detroit Lake east of Salem.

The GREAT GRAY OWL is still being seen at the Quail Run Golf Course near
LaPine. A BLACK PHOEBE was along Lost River southeast of Klamath Falls
December 5. A REDPOLL was coming to a feeder in Island City north of
LaGrande November 30.

Thats it for this week.
