The feature bird is WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.

Sightings for Saturday, Dec. 9:

This morning 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were discovered in Everett Crowley
Park in East Vancouver.

At Colony Farm the following birds were reported: 1 immature NORTHERN SHRIKE
1 immature ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 1 BARN OWL, 3 SHORT-EARED OWL

Friday, Dec. 8:

The BEWICK'S SWAN was reported from Kilby Provincial Park along the Harrison
River. To reach this location take Highway 7 well past Mission to the
Sasquatch Inn.
Just past the Inn there is a large bridge which crosses the Harrison River.
Once over the bridge take the first immediate right turn and follow the Park
signs which will lead to Kilby Provincial Park. Nearby the VESPER SPARROW
was also relocated with a large flock of Juncos along Kennedy Rd. near the
Lougheed Highway.

A HUTTON'S VIREO was located amongst a large mixed flock of Kinglets at
Carrington St. and Celtic St. in the Southlands area of Vancouver.

In Port Coquitlam at LaFarge Park a GREAT HORNED OWL and 2 EURASIAN WIGEONS
were reported.

Thursday, Dec 7:

The BEWICK'S SWAN was reported from Kilby Provincial Park on the Harrison
River.
Nearby at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Kennedy Rd. was a VESPER
SPARROW.

The PALM WARBLER was seen on Deering Island at the foot of Carrington St. in
the
Southlands area of Vancouver.

2 EARED GREBES were reported from the end of the White Rock Pier. Nearby at
Blackie Spit the MARBLED GODWIT and the LONG-BILLED CURLEW were seen in the
morning.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

At the Iona Island South Jetty tip the ROCK SANDPIPER was again seen amongst
large numbers of DUNLIN and up to 8 WESTERN SANDPIPERS. Also here were
13 SNOW BUNTINGS.

An adult NORTHERN SHRIKE, COOPER'S HAWK and many SNOW GEESE were
reported from the Richmond West Dyke near the Terra Nova Compensation
Property.

A male EURASIAN WIGEON was reported from Noon's Creek in Port Moody.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

The adult BEWICK'S SWAN was reported at Kilby Provincial Park on the
Harrison River.

The immature PALM WARBLER was again seen at the corner of Celtic St. and
Carrington St. in the Southlands area of Vancouver.

At the tip of the Iona Island South Jetty a ROCK SANDPIPER was located with
well over 16,000 DUNLIN and at least 2 WESTERN SANDPIPERS.

Monday, Dec. 4:

The BEWICK'S SWAN was confirmed at Kilby Provincial Park on the Harrison
River.

The immature PALM WARBLER was again reported in at the corner of Celtic St.
and Carrington St. in the Southlands area of Vancouver.

A BARRED OWL was seen for much of the day in Montrose Park in North Burnaby.

At Deer Lake 3 HUTTON'S VIREOS, 1 immature NORTHERN SHRIKE and 11 HOODED
MERGANSERS were reported.
