In answer to Clarice Clark's inquiry, Anna's have been recorded in King Co.
since the l970's; we first recorded one on the Kent-Auburn CBC in l980 and
at least one almost every year since l986 - at my feeder. These past few
years numbers have increased with a male, female plus immatures every fall,
winter & spring. It's certainly an obligation to keep the feeder filled,
but it becomes really difficult whenever we experience the occasional
below-freezing cold snap as predicted for this winter.

Also, the upcoming K-A CBC on Dec. 31 could use more birders; care to sign
up? send me an e-mail. Last year for the first time we surpassed both
Seattle's & Tahoma's birdcount; quite a feat because those counts have lots
of saltwater while we have very little.
We do, however, have a corridor of hawks in the valley.
