I went out and poured hot water on a half barrel sunk in the ground in my
garden, since it is now just above freezing so the birds could have some
water to drink. I had not even made it the dozen steps to the back door
when the chickadees were on it and drinking. the finches and juncos have
been down to get drinks, too. ( The word must have gotten around).
