Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday December 14. If you have anything to add call

The BLUE JAY continues to be seen at White Salmon, Washington.

The Looney Lane SNOWY OWL near Tangent was reported again December 12.
The Smithfield Road BURROWING OWL continues to be seen.

Good numbers of PACIFIC LOONS and SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS are being seen
just offshore. With them are lesser numbers of SOOTY SHEARWATERS and
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES. A RED PHALAROPE was at Boiler Bay December 12.

The BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER is still being seen at Cutler City on Siletz
Bay.

A male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD was seen December 13 along Lower River Road
near Ridgefield NWR. Two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS and a HARLAN'S RED-TAILED
HAWK continue to be seen on the refuge. On December 7 a dozen SHORT-EARED
OWLS and 33 GREAT EGRETS were in the Ridgefield area. That day six TREE
SPARROWS were reported on the dry Shilipoo Lake bed.

On December 10 a WILSON'S WARBLER was at the marina parking lot on Larson
Road next to the Sauvie Island Bridge.

Theer is now a male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK coming to a NE Portland bird
feeder. It first arrived December 7.

A EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL, a EURASIAN WIGEON, and a BRANT were at the
Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove December 10. The CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
continues to be seen two miles south of Dayton.

On December 10 two ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS and three GREATER SCAUP were
reported from Ankeny NWR. The MAGPIE continues to be seen in Monmouth,
and the PRAIRIE FALCON is still around the EE Wilson SWA.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW is now at Sisters. A RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was on the
Deschutes River in Bend December 11. Another RED-BREASTED and a GREATER
SCAUP were in Klamath Falls December 8.

BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS are now back in the Wallowa Valley. Last weekend 600
were in Joseph and 116 were in the town of Wallowa. Two SNOW BUNTINGS
were along Zumwalt Road December 10.
