December 13, 4:35 PM - Greetings, this is Dave Beaudette at (206) 365-2083.
Today I spent about three hours birding Point No Point at the N.E. tip of
the Kitsap Peninsula. At 12:15 I was rewarded with a good look at one ARCTIC
LOON about 1/8 of a mile south of the lighthouse under partly sunny skies
and a light chop on the water. Good birding!

December 15, 6:02 AM - Hi, this is Tom Aversa reporting on a trip yesterday
to the Vancouver lowlands in S.W. Washington. Six TREE SPARROWS are still in
the area of the Shilpoo hunting dry lake bed area. Three of the birds are
just south of the manure pit in the hedgerows. The other birds that I saw
yesterday are down in the lake bed. Also quite a lot of other sparrows down
there. Well over 100 SAVANNAH SPARROWS. Also had a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW at
Frenchman's Bar River Front Park on Lower River Road. The other major bird
of note was an apparent WHITE FRONTED/CANADA hybrid with a bunch of CACKLING
GEESE down near Postoffice Lake on the Lower River Road.

December 15, 5:47 PM - Hello, this is Mike Wile (425) 503-5766 birding the
Snoqualmie Valley around Carnation today. We had an immature HARRIS'S
SPARROW as well as a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW. If you take, from the west
side, Carnation Farms Road, cross the river, take an immediate left. Head
north just for .1 mile down a little dirt road. There were a few flocks of
sparrows with GOLDEN-CROWNS, WHITE CROWNS, and SONG SPARROWS, and FOX
SPARROWS. There was an immature HARRIS'S SPARROW as well as a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW. Thank you and good birding.

December 15, 8:11 PM - Hi, this is Steven Mlodinov. Today Ryan Shaw, Charlie
Wright, and I birded from Port Angeles to Point No Point. At Lincoln Park in
Port Angeles the one-footed EMPEROR GOOSE was still happily feeding on bread
and other delights with assorted tame geese and some WIGEON and gulls. At
Dungeness Spit, from one of the bluffs, we could look out over the spit. A
SNOWY OWL was seen. At the Olympic Game Farm near Sequim there was an
immature WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE in with some CANADAS and CACKLING CANADAS. At
the Hood Canal crossing, the west side near Port Orchard, there was a
CLARK'S GREBE in with some WESTERNS. We did spend some time looking for the
ARCTIC LOON at Point No Point without luck. Word has it it was not seen
today or yesterday. The LITTLE GULL was seen yesterday by Vic Nelson at
about 1:30 at Point No Point. This is a first year bird. That's it. Good
Luck and good birding.
