Hello Tweeters,
I have re-posted all of my Rock Sandpiper photos, including the Pribilof
race bird after I did some photo editing to lighten up my previous images.
They do look much better now, as you can really see the differences between
the races in the comparison shots (Image 5). Also posted are photos of our
regular wintering race, I'm very pleased with how well Image 2 on the site
came out. As Rock Sandpipers are quite difficult to photograph, a lot of
sneaking around is required and it can be an awefully wet experience. These
are the first photos I have obtained of this species since 1996, and my
first slide shots. (I will never use print film again as I now believe it
is quite inferior to slide film). People had told me this but I am a
believer now. Anyways, also posted are re-edited shots of a cooperative
Black-footed Albatross. (I don't know how this happened, but I had pretty
good photos of Laysan and Shy Albatross, but no decent BFAL photos until
now). And a series of a "bathing" Surfbird.
Again feedback is welcomed, as I appreciated everyone who responded to my
last post.
A few people asked me how I scanned the slides, I don't have a slide scanner
myself yet, so went to Kits Camera to put on photo CD.
