Greetings:
I took the long way home today through the "flats" on fir island. There
are still quite a few hunters about, but they went their way and I went
another. The Rawlins road area had 4+ short eared owls flying, playing
and chasing a Northern harrier.
If you travel to Rawlins road, be aware that the ditches have been
pulled to the end of the road. The ditches are VERY deep and right to
the edge of the road. Not much room to turn around, and if you make a
mistake it will be bad.

The night heron roost tree seems to have a fairly good population this
winter-

And, the Snow geese are definitely in the area. WOW!
