The East L. WA AS completed its CBC on Sat. There were some interesting
changes from previous years. The number of species seen was 79 compared to a
15 year average of 78, but the total number of birds was way down, 9961 which
is the lowest since 1987 and compares to an average of 15601 over 15 years.
The low totals are attributed to low numbers of waterfowl, crows, and
starlings. Major changes are listed below with 1999 and 1998 totals in ( ).
