Ron-

Fear not. The 11 year run for Snowy Owl on the Moses Lake CBC should
continue. I searched Mike Denny's spot (covered 9 sections) near 4 SE and
M SE south of Moses Lake without success yesterday, but found a single bird
at the traditional area off (east of) L NE and north of Nelson Road. It
was in a usual spot, sitting on top of a wheel line mover. This is the
first Snowy Owl I've seen in the area this winter. After all the
invasion-year reports from both coasts in early November, it seems our old
faithful is a little late if anything. The reports of a carcass found last
winter by a local farmer may be true, but it wasn't the last of the Moses
Lake clan.
