The weather here today was decidedly winterlike with the air temperature
holding just above freezing during daylight while a steady rain fell onto
the already frozen ground until around 3 pm, and so, although I had the day
off, much of my birding was restricted to feeder watching. However, when
the rain finally relented I grabbed the scope and went to have a look
through the small flock of gulls loafing on the lawn near the lagoon in Two
Rivers County Park and discovered 3 Mew Gulls; 1 mature & 2 second winter
birds.
Yesterday I received a reliable report of a male Eurasian Wigeon seen also
in Two Rivers Park. I suspect it may be the same one that's been reported
at the duck pond in Columbia Park, because it came rather fearlessly to feed
being scattered by the person who reported it.
