In article <3A473733.21A990E at cableinet.co.uk>, Michael Frankis
<pfne10838 at cableinet.co.uk> writes
>I remember a letter in 'British Birds' a few years ago titled "Is there
>anything Turnstones won't eat", followed by a long list, including soap,
>dead people, etc, etc, etc.
>
"soap, gull excrement, dog food, potato peels, cheese, oatmeal, and the
flesh of dead animals, including birds, sheep, wolf, cat and a human
corpse."

Armed with this information, the letter writer tried out various foods
on Turnstones feeding round his camp in Alaska, and added the following
items: cooked rice, raisins, cloves of garlic and honey-coated oat
cereal.

Have a nice Christmas dinner, everyone :-)
