I've seen two mystery birds. One bird is up for sale at the Parrot Co-Op
down below Pike Place Market. It's a beautiful creature called a
"bluejay magpie". It's black on top like a Stellars Jay, with a deep
blue back and tail. It's beak looks like a corvid beak, but the people at
the parrot place couldn't confirm whether it's a corvid or not. It's
native to Malaysia. It's selling for $850. It's more active than the
parrots and was making the softest little gurgling noises as it flitted
around its cage. It's also about the size of a magpie with a shorter
tail.
A television commercial for Windex "stars" two crows with lots of white
feathers on them. They look real, with animation effects to make their
beaks look like they're talking. Did the commercial producers use
Carrion Crows for the spot?
