Definately sitting on the tailgate of my truck waiting for the perfect
'owling hour' when I caught a glimpse of a small owl landing on a branch that
was hanging over my head just a few feet up. My flashlight revealed a
Flammulated Owl sitting there watching me eat my sunflower seeds. Not only
did I get great looks, I was also able to take it's picture. When the
pictures came back from developing I noticed the owl had a large beetle in
it's beak. I guess I was too excited at the time to notice!! I've had 91
owl sightings this year and many memorable ones that could take first place
but the Flamm was definately incredible!! Bryan Mathews,
