Mine would have to be the Whooping Cranes I saw West Of the town of Cold
Lake in Northern Alberta. My Dad and I were returning from a trip to
Saskatchewan and he was driving at the time and I was Napping. I woke up
just in time to see 4 very large birds flying across the road. At first I
thought they were Sandhill Cranes but then they turned and I saw they were
large White birds. I Told my dad (whom is very hard of hearing to stop but I
had to say it three times (the last time very LOUD) before he understood. I
grabbed my binos and was treated to an amazing view of these birds gliding
over the trees away from us. This is a bird I thought I would never get to
see in my lifetime so is definitely my bird of the year.
