Hey Tweets,
Scott Downes and Brooke McDonald and myself birded Douglas and Okanogan
Counties between the days of December 26th-28th.
Highlights:
BOHEMIAN WAXWING - 1 only one bird seen the whole trip, quite surprisingly.
Near Mansfield.
SNOW BUNTING - 5 near Atkins Lake, another small group in flight at Cameron
Lake Road.
EVENING GROSBEAK - hundreds in both Twisp and Winthrop, basically the only
finch type bird in those respected areas.
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW - 15 near the base of Bridgeport Hill Road
GRAY PARTRIDGE - all over Douglas County roads
CHUKAR - about 5 miles north of Dry Falls Interpretive Center
SHARP-TAILED GROUSE - 4 flushed out by a Juvenal NORTHERN GOSHAWK near the
base of Cameron Lake Road. The Grouse began budding in some water birch,
and the Goshawk perched on a telephone pole, so great studies through the
scope of both species.
AMERICAN DIPPER - 3 along Little Beaver Lake
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH - 40 in a farmers field east of Twisp, another 50 or
so near the town of Havillah.

About all of note, now to go for that Mountain Plover... I have been
informed the MT Plover was seen today quite well, by Steve Mlodinow, Jason
Starfire and Sam Terry, so looks like it'll stick through the weekend at
least.

Good Birding
